“In March, I’ll be caught up, rested, and human”
Hey friends,
Welcome to the Hard Copy newsy, where all of your recommendations for the week are a quick scroll away. Thanks for joining a few thousand of us who gather every Saturday morning to catch up on this quasi mini magazine covering all things culture and lifestyle.
Regarding the subject line...well, let's hope Sylvia Plath was right. The Pulitzer Prize winner was a pivotal voice in 20th-century women's literature, and gave us knockouts like The Bell Jar to The Colossus and Other Poems. Her writing is *still* so prolific because she masterfully captured passion, longing, and wistful aspirations while offering a raw glimpse into the turmoil and despair that often filled her mind. Her work is both compelling and relatable.
Whether it's a book, painting, film, or song, art can validate our emotions, experiences, and perspectives. Art can reflect our own struggles, joys, or inner thoughts, certainly making us feel less alone.
I hope you're consuming, experiencing, or creating art wherever possible. It doesn't even have to cost anything! Have you heard of biophilia? It's the concept that humans have an innate connection with nature and that being surrounded by natural landscapes or elements reduces stress, improves mood, and enhances feelings of well-being. So, grab a friend and let's plan some outdoor time, shall we?
If you need company on your outdoor adventures, tune into the latest episode of Your Weekly Breakdown. It's like an audio version of this newsy...and it's also much funnier.
Until next week, take good care of yourself.

📺 Watch
While I've enjoyed The White Lotus and Severance in all their prestige-tv glory, let's not sleep on Running Point is a buzzy TV show that feels like the earlier comedies of our time (and at times a parody?!), but Kate Hudson's sparkle is what I tuned in for. As always, she's a star! (Netflix)
If you want to see 1) an intense thriller based on a true story, 2) Jude Law looking the hottest ever, and 3) Nicholas Hoult acting his ass off, then you'll have your trifecta with The Order. (Prime Video)
Christoph Waltz is always a master villain (Inglourious Basterds, Bond: Spectre), and he plays one yet again, but this time in the action comedy Old Guy. Adore seeing him enjoy some lighter fare. Lucy Liu also pops in! (Paramount+)

Hands down, SAYA by Saya Gray is my favourite album of the year so far.
There are some major hits on The Weeknd's latest, Hurry Up Tomorrow, and I enjoy his vibe sometimes!
Humanhood by The Weather Station is mellow, ethereal country/folk. She, for sure, would have been in the Lilith Fair lineup.
