Everything is made new in the spring

Hey friends,

There is something undeniably electric about this time of year. It marks a shift in season, a renewal of energy, and—perhaps most importantly—a moment to celebrate the quiet strength, boundless creativity, and unshakable resilience of women everywhere.

If spring is the season of possibility, then this is our time to embrace it together, to remind ourselves and each other that progress is not just personal—it is collective.

This newsy, like all the others, is a love letter to you, along with the conversations that energize us and the moments of connection that remind us just how powerful we are. From the small joys that brighten our days to the bold moves that shape our futures, we should celebrate it all. Empowerment isn’t just a word—it’s an action, a movement, and a force that multiplies when shared.

So here’s to us—to the women who go first and the ones who follow with even bigger dreams, to the friends who cheer the loudest, the mentors who guide the way, and the simple yet radical act of believing in each other.

Let’s move forward together—with grace, strength, and an unwavering belief in what’s next.

Sending hugs (and an extra shot of espresso),

📺 Watch

The Residence is a fun and overcomplicated murder mystery! Lush and chaotic, an eccentric detective arrives at the White House to solve a murder during a state dinner. (Netflix)

I was wary of the hype around Adolescence, but it is as captivating, intense, and thought-provoking as so many have been saying. A family's world turns upside down when 13-year-old Jamie Miller is arrested for murdering a schoolmate. (Netflix)

F Marry Kill is a raunchy comedy that revolves around a mystery. Thrust into the dating app world by her best friends, true-crime junkie Eva suddenly finds herself at the centre of an actual murder case. (Prime)

Horse Vision's Another Life is quirky and unique, with a creative take on sampling. While the album itself is a great listen, you'll blend the futuristic rock with blasts from the past. It feels like a mixtape your cool girlfriend would make you. If I did any of those "just trust me" links, this album would be it.

I flip through dozens of albums each week before I recommend a few to you, and I completely lost track of what I was doing because I was loving Chinese American Bear's Wah!!! so much! What a vibe!! It ranges from funk to pop to twee, and every track is catchy and very upbeat. Take Me to Beijing is my favourite track.

I thought I'd mention a few podcasts this week: Michelle Obama on Kylie Kelce's NGL pod, Ellen Pompeo on Call Her Daddy, and (ahem) the latest episode of Your Weekly Breakdown, our favourite pod.

Jane Austen's Bookshelf is from Rebecca Romney, a rare book dealer and guest star of the hit show Pawn Stars. It's a page-turning literary adventure that introduces readers to the women writers who inspired Jane Austen and investigates why their books have disappeared from our shelves.

Dream Count by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie is an unflinching contemporary novel exploring love, longing, and self-discovery through the lives of four women. With lyrical prose and deep emotional insight, the book examines love, honesty, and the pursuit of happiness.

I always hesitate before recommending the really popular books because their marketing budgets don't necessarily mean great novels, but Amy Griffin's memoir The Tell is powerful and rattled my core. I'm still thinking about it…

🛁 Indulge

Earlier this week, a girlfriend asked me for my weighted vest recommendation, and I realized I hadn't spent any time putting together my favourite workout gear for you! What a miss! Sorry babes. With the mornings and evenings a bit brighter, it's a great excuse to pick up a new pair of (waterproof) runners, fresh socks, a versatile top layer, and some accessories and home workout gear and my favourite app (Soto Method: best money I've ever spent) to keep you motivated. Also, shoutout to the Kala red light sauna blanket, which my mom got me as a gift. I use it almost daily as an excellent relaxation and recovery tool.

Jacket, Lolë. Sports bra, Nike. Leggings, Lululemon. Cap, Local Tourist. Sunglasses, Oakley. Yoga mat, Manduka. Soto Method, App. Sauna blanket, Kala. Kettlebells, WeGym. Water bottle, Yeti. Waterproof sneakers, Nike. Socks, Hanes. Wrist and ankle weights, Bala. Weighted vest, Zelus.
