Let’s all go touch some gra
Hey friends,
There's something magical happening right now—have you noticed? Trees throw blossoms like confetti, dogs are prancing in the sunshine, and park benches are suddenly packed. It's as if the whole world is stretching out of hibernation, blinking in the light, and collectively deciding: Let's go outside.
Spring always brings that first thrill—the rush of green, the smell of sun-warmed grass, the giddy sight of a picnic blanket unfolding. But this year, the joy feels especially sharp. Maybe it's because we're coming out of a long winter (literal or otherwise). Maybe it's because there's real science behind how much better we feel when we spend time in nature together.
One 2023 study from the University of Exeter found that spending just two hours a week in nature significantly boosts wellbeing—and that those benefits double when we do it in the company of friends. Basically, sunshine and a good group chat are the closest thing we've got to a life hack.
Consider this your formal invitation: take the long way home, linger at the picnic, and laugh too loud on a walk with a friend. This season is short, sweet, and meant to be savoured.
So, say yes to fun, friends, and that golden, early-evening glow.
See you out there,

The Four Seasons is a great midlife comedy ensemble show. It's incredibly funny and well-written and stars Tina Fey, Steve Carell, and Colman Domingo, each navigating life's challenges. (Netflix)
Another Simple Favor is a lavish, bitchy, fantastic movie. Haters will keep hating and sabotaging any review system they can, but Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick are having a freaking blast in the sequel to their dark comedy A Simple Favor, and I had a blast watching it! (Prime)

This playlist is just as much for shaking your ass as it is for wrapping yourself in a blanket on a rainy day. It's equal parts invigorating and soothing. Play when you have friends over for dinner to impress them with your eclectic taste. Just do me one little favour? Don't play it on shuffle!
For something gentle, nostalgic, and whimsical, try Maria Somerville's Luster. It is a diaphanous and enveloping dream-pop album that knocked my socks off.
My podcast co-host Cait and I are back with episode 29 of the Your Weekly Breakdown podcast, where we make news and culture a bit more digestible and sprinkle in many laughs. It feels like you're hanging out with your girlfriends, catching up on life, so come hang out!

I picked up The King's Messenger by Susanna Kearsley at the airport and what a lucky discovery! A devoted King's Messenger is entrusted with a vital mission. As his perilous journey unfolds, his entourage grows—a guarded neighbour, the man's aloof daughter, and a spirited young boy who quickly earns the Messenger's care. Rich with historical detail, this novel carries a thoughtful, grounded tone punctuated by moments of humour, glimmers of magic, and the quiet charm of love found in the most unlikely places.
Emily Henry is back with another fantastic book, a slight departure from her previous romance novels. Great Big Beautiful Life is a character-driven novel about a lively young journalist and a guarded, award-winning biographer competing to write the life story of an enigmatic former Hollywood heiress. Navigating NDAs, burgeoning romance, and professional ambitions, the journalist and biographer must put aside their differences and unravel the mystery surrounding the heiress and her family's empire.
Shelby Hinte serves as the Senior Editor of Write or Die Magazine, one of the best resources for burgeoning authors on the World Wide Web. Howling Women is her debut novel. The book follows the heartbroken and lost Sabine Haegan, who's searching for a new life in the New Mexico desert while trying to overcome her traumatic past.
✨ Indulge
When I have my life together, I usually put together an outfit or ideas for self-care and pop it in this section. This week, my life is not together! That said, I’ve been working on adding past "Indulge" sections to the blog for longevity. I'm working on getting old ones up there, but you can peek at a few that are up now.
More importantly, I have to mention my very favourite fashion newsletter right now:
If The Devil Wears Prada was a newsletter—except, well, nicer, then this is it. This twice-weekly dispatch from the fashion and beauty editors at FASHION Magazine is your guide to living a more stylish life. Sign should absolutely sign up here.
